Jamla Records Meet and Greet at Commonwealth

Tonight Jamla Records blessed DC with a meet and greet; one of the three events that I have taken the liberty to define as "North Carolinas Hip Hop Takeover of DC", which took place at Commonwealth's DC store. While I occupied myself maneuvering around the store looking for the various artists, much like a kid looking for Easter Eggs, I had the pleasure of speaking with Krysis and Rapsody; two highly progressive musicians representing the best the south has to offer. I also saw 9th Wonder, while he showered the crowd with songs from different artists on his label. It was almost surreal seeing 9th Wonder in person because he was one of the first icons I ever really admired in the Hip Hop scene. The final installment of NC's Hip Hop campaign will take place this Saturday at ECL with Kooley High on the mic.; be sure to stop by.

DC's Commonwealth/Stussy store was the generous host for the Jamla meet and greet; support local fashion.

DJ Face blessed all of the Jamla Records fans with classic tunes until all of the artists arrived. 9th Wonder and company had to suffer through one of DC's most notorious entities, rush hour.

Rapsody, one of the members of Kooley High.
Producer Khrysis, part of the duo The Away Team. The other member of the duo, MC Sean Boog was also going to be at the meet and greet, but sadly broke a bone in his leg just before arriving.(Get better soon!)

9th Wonder on the ones and twos.
